The new Kuzco partner brand was launched to much anticipation at Lightovation in Dallas. Here are more details about the new line.
In the three months since the launch of Alora, the buzz about this ambitious new venture from Kuzco founder Nathan Yang has not diminished. The initial launch at Lightovation in January debuted to much fanfare and was truly a showcase of a new brand as well as a continued commitment to the showroom industry. The overwhelming response and positive reception of this brands new collection has generated future partnerships with showrooms across the country and cemented the line as an up and coming leader in luxury lighting design. We sat down with founder Nathan Yang to pick his mind about this stunning new line.
Q: Why did you feel the need to create Alora when you already have a very successful company in Kuzco?
A: While Kuzco was created with bringing modern architectural fixtures at great prices in mind, Alora is an exploration of luxury and timeless elegance that is actually closer to my own personal style. The attention to detail and luxuriousness allows us to explore new classic styles of lighting and timeless finishes. It made sense to put this under a new brand.
Q: Can you tell us more about the showroom itself?
A: Absolutely. As many of our customers saw at Dallas Market, we wanted to present the Alora showroom as a gallery to ensure everyone could see the quality and unique designs of each item in the collection.
Q: Where do you draw inspiration from?
A: I draw inspiration from everyday objects. I look at the item and say “How can I make that into a light fixture” then we consider all the finishing materials and functionality. Our fixtures are beautiful, but we also pay close attention to how we construct them so installation is easy and versatile for various applications. We always want to keep the customer in mind.
Q: How do you think lighting fits into the bigger picture of the overall design story of a space?
A: I think of it as one of the major elements of the room – the light of the space brings all other elements into harmony. It is the piece in a space that can make a statement. Alora is dedicated to providing a combination of timeless and unique designs using superior finishes that can work in homes, hotels and designer spaces.
Q: What has been the response so far?
A: Since market, we have had an overwhelming positive response. We want to thank everyone who made our launch so successful. Customers keep telling us “just keep doing what you are doing” so we plan on giving them more exciting designs. Several of our customers are committing to put in large gallery displays in their showrooms even with our limited initial release.
Q: What does the future hold for Alora?
A: We are very excited to debut new designs at June Lightovation that have a continued attention to detail. Alora is working on new amazing partnership relationships within the industry. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store in the near future; this is only the beginning!
